Sinus Lifting
What is Sinus Lifting?
Sinus lifting is the process of raising the floor of the sinus cavity and filling it with bone powder if there is not enough bone height to make an implant in the upper jaw posterior region.
Why is Sinus Lifting Necessary?
- The bone height is insufficient in the upper jaw posterior region
- At least 10 mm bone height is required to make an implant
- The sinus cavity is too close to the jaw bone.
- Bone height has decreased due to bone resorption
Sinus Lifting Techniques
- Open sinus lifting: It is performed by opening a surgical window to the sinus floor.
- Closed sinus lifting: Bone powder is injected through the implant socket.
Healing Process
4-8 months are expected after the procedure. During this period, natural bone formation is achieved with bone powder. When sufficient bone quality is reached for implant placement, the second stage begins.
Treatment Process
Step by step planning
Examination and Tomography
Sinus and bone status is evaluated, 3D tomography is performed.
Sinus Lifting Application
The sinus floor is elevated and bone powder is filled.
Recovery Period

short implant
These are dental implants that are generally shorter than 8.5 mm in length (down to 4-6 mm in some systems) and are used when the height of the jaw bone is insufficient to place a standard implant (usually 10 mm and above). In cases where there is insufficient bone, plateau design implants or short implants can usually be applied without the need for bone powder or grafts.
