From 1984 to Today: The Technological Journey of a Physician and a Clinic
Prof. Dr. İbrahim Duran's professional journey from Samsun to academia, the establishment story of the clinic, and the process of integrating the latest technologies such as groundbreaking 3D tomography, digital scanners and CAD/CAM into the clinic.

From 1984 to Today: One The Technological Journey of the Physician and the Clinic

Prof. Dr. From the Pen of İbrahim Duran:

My story, which started in Samsun in 1984, took on an academic identity with the education I received at Gazi University Faculty of Dentistry and then my specialization period at Ondokuz Mayıs University. However, what was really exciting for me was the idea of bringing this academic knowledge to Samsun, my hometown, and establishing a clinic of international standards here. At this point today, I am not only a dentist, but also a clinic manager who closely follows the ever-developing technology.

From Academy to Clinic: The Birth of Vision

The knowledge I gained at universities over the years I wanted to put his knowledge into practice, not just leave it in theory. I argued that a clinic is not just a place where treatment is provided, but also should function as an education and research center. In the clinic we established in Samsun Atakum, we aimed to instantly integrate the latest technological developments in dentistry while planning the treatment process of each patient in the light of scientific data.

Technological Equipment of Our Clinic: From Past to Today

Dentistry has undergone an incredible transformation in the last 20 years. Those huge pastes used to take measurements in the past were replaced by digital scanners with millimetric precision. I can list the most important parts of this transformation in our clinic as follows:

🦷 3D Tomography (DVT / CBCT)

A life-saving technology in implant surgery and complex jaw joint operations. In cases where 2-dimensional x-rays are insufficient, it provides 3-dimensional millimetric examination of the jaw bone, nerve canals and tooth roots. In this way, we plan surgical procedures in the safest way.

📸 Digital Intraoral Scanners

We said goodbye to traditional measurement methods. By obtaining a digital copy of the patient's mouth in seconds, we both increase patient comfort and ensure zero error production of the restoration in the laboratory stage.

💻 CAD/CAM and 3D Printers

Thanks to computer-aided design (CAD) and manufacturing (CAM) systems, zirconium coatings, laminates and temporary restorations are produced in a very short time and with high precision. This technology shortens the treatment time and maximizes aesthetic success. Before we start, we show off their new smiles digitally. With facial scanning systems and special software, the harmony of the teeth with the facial features is simulated.

Technology Does Not Change People, People Manage Technology

We should not forget how advanced the devices are. No matter what we use, there is always people at the center of dentistry. Technology is a tool that supports the physician's dexterity and clinical experience. A 3D tomography device has no meaning unless it is interpreted correctly. That's why we use technology in our clinic as a leverage for accurate diagnosis and correct treatment planning.

🚀 Our Vision: To achieve world standards in dentistry in Samsun and the entire region. To provide our patients with dental services not only today but also in the future.

Looking to the Future: Artificial Intelligence and Digital Dentistry

I believe that artificial intelligence-supported diagnostic systems, robotic surgery and biomaterial technologies will take dentistry even further in the coming years. We follow these developments closely in our clinic and constantly update our infrastructure. Because for us, every patient deserves to be treated with the latest technology and the highest comfort and success rate.

📌 Conclusion

My life, which started in Samsun in 1984, was crowned with a dentistry diploma in 2007, a specialization in 2011 and a professorship in 2025. At the point we have reached today, I am very proud to serve the health tourism and people of Samsun with the modern clinic we established and the state-of-the-art devices we use. Our technological journey will continue to provide healthier and happier smiles to our patients.
